New Ruby Logo and Rails 2.0

The Ruby programming language logo contest has ended and Matz select Tom Schaub’s design as the winner. And the Rails core team has also released Release Candidate 1 of Rails 2.0. I still stay with 1.2.4 for my office’s production line, many new good things comes with this 2.0 version but we’re still had many deprecations to squash. And yes this is also affect the Toombila project, another delay for next release :P

Chickenstrip 44: Blogger Party 2007 and URL


Indonesian Blogger Party 2007 was a great event, not only because that day (October 27th) declared as Indonesian national Blogger Day but also because I met many well known blogger, many blogger patron and many friendly blogger fellow.
Most asked question: “I often can’t access your chicken blog. Why?” Well, I still can’t find out why.. the webhosting is good, the domain was paid, my other websites and domains were normal, the blog engine is fine (not because the Mephisto Ndry, in Ruby on Rails we trust :P). I’m starting to think to change my domain to .com or .org before ended up with blogging in localhost server :P
And since the URL column on the nametag/ID-card was too small, it’ll be better to write bigger URL (or tshirt with specified URL maybe?) for the next year event. And for some of you who advised me with your so called brilliant idea… no fellas, I’m not crazy enough to wear such a chicken costume.

Chickenstrip 43: Blogger Party 2007 and Koil


Riding in 160 km/h speed while listening to Koil’s latest album loud, man.. it feels like riding SUV in Need For Speed Underground with Bandung – Jakarta highway as racing track. Thanks to Ryan Deathrockstar for the ride, music informations and free music concept. Sadly our pertamax campaign was failed, well.. there’s no guestbook anyway :P

I’m not a fan of Koil since my early college year, but I like their latest free album (yea yea I’m a late bloomer as always :P), it’s more friendly for common listener like me, nice free music concept, great lyrics, softer/slower but yet not less industrial.
